See the “Making of” post here:
Trilobite Boy doesn’t get acne: he gets cracks in his carapace. Soooo embarrassing.
Pencil in Moleskine, preparing for iPad painting.
In university I was asked regularly what I was smoking or doing to come up with ideas in my paintings.
Answer was I was reading biology.
My pencil drawing of the Incredible Hulk’s Anatomy, painted using ArtRage Studio Pro. Quite proud of how this fanart did last year. Appeared on my Scientific American Blog Symbiartic then became an Image of the Week on SciAm, as well as appearing on io9 and a ton of other sites which I catalogued in the comments here. I don’t do fanart very often, so it was nice to see this prove to be so popular with Avengers fans. Hulk © Marvel Comics, this fanart © Glendon Mellow.
Tip-Top Steam-Powered Robot by Glendon Mellow. Pencil drawing, painted on my iPhone 4 using the Sketch Club app. More at The Flying Trilobite.
This has been a Public Service Announcement from The Flying Trilobite.
(57) Dog or wolf? Direwolf, perhaps.
